The first poetry is one of the last and has already been shared on Facebook beginning of 2015. I wrote it at the end of 2014-2015 Christmas holiday, the day I have been discharged from the hospital after 20 days, that's where the title come from. It's been a very alternative experience but able anyway to teach me a lot, thanks to all friends and relatives that have been next to me, but also thanks to the Lodi hospital staff of Cardiology and Oncology department and thanks to the room mate I had to luck to met.
Twenty days (C. Ferla 08.01.2015)
Twenty days have gone,
I felt they were less as they flew away.
Christmas has passed, end of year as well has gone,
and the epiphany has cleaned up everything far away
Strange holidays in the hospital I’ve spent,
doing therapies like turns in a route.
And along the road I met old friends who are always present,
or embraced new people whose names and faces I’ll not forget.
As every person we meet is a discovery worth to live,
and it is the destiny making for us its own choices.
Only bedroom mates with a lot of experience to dive and give,
a gift only old men can donate with their wrinkled faces.
With today they are twenty days,
and it’s time to come back to my bed.
Back home, with my friends and relatives,
As today from the hospital I‘ve been discharged
And today I want to inaugurate this new year,
thanking all of you with these verses.
For everything we shared last year,
which we’ll live again in this new one with a smile on our faces
For the new year I hope your dreams and desires will get real,
and I send you my most sincere wishes about this.
To myself I ask the same joy and emotions I lived this year,
No matter about the rest, if that’s the price I’ll pay it with a kiss.
