Who I am.... and who I was

My name is Claudio Ferla and I was born in 1971 in Crema, a small town in the countryside of the flat and foggy Pianura Padana

I have always had the feeling I have lived several different lives, connected one to the other by the people that have been next to me and who are a common element through my lives. Without these real people I would doubt about the fact that my previous lives are just coming out from my imagination.

Who have I been? At first a fat boy and shy boy, full of fears and complexes; son of a family with a grocery store.

Growing up I became an arrogant teenager, difficult to be managed by my parents; fully convinced to be able to conquer everything just by doing the minimun effort and willing to try any experience that was available in 1980s, legal or not.

Then I was a university student in engineering, officially engaged with a girl who later became my wife and, after that, I became a father. From a working point of view, after the degree I started as an employee in a multinational company and I became a manager in another one. The most common adjective that has been used to describe me has been "Eclectic"; as a matter of fact, I passed from the IT department to the Commercial one and, eventually, in the Supply Chain. In 2009 I had my first contact with my travel buddy and since then I am an oncologic patient: melanoma III stadium with limph nodes metastases.

Since 2011 not married anymore but divorced.

But life was going to have a new and amazing surprise in reserve for me.
First I went back to school desks to attend an MBA in one of the most beautiful and peaceful places in Europe, an healthy touch for spirit and mind: Bled in Slovenia. And then I got newly engaged with a lovely lady, with a hopeful future and really a lot of dreams to realize.
On 7th April 2013, after having been reanimated because of an epilectic crisis, I woke up with a brain methastasis.
Since then I am in continuous therapy in a place, full of angels dressed like doctors and nurses, named Istituto Tumori di Milano.
I am always a father, even more proud of his fantastic son and even more in love with that crazy girl which has been staying beside me despite all the mess I have been going through. I am a son proud of his mother and with an unbelievably strong sister. I am surrounded by dozens of friends in Italy and abroad to whom, one day, I hope to be able to say thanks in the way they deserve to for all the support, friendship and fun they gave me in these years and in all my  lives.
